The official game says its near-4,000-song library is inspired by Friday Night Funkin’ and its mod community. That scale makes status, chart identity, and checked date essential: old community documentation can contain tabs or songs that have moved, changed, become unavailable, or were planned but never released in the same form.

This guide shows how to build and use a verified mod index without pretending the catalog is frozen.

Understand what a “mod” row represents

In player searches, “mod” can mean a source FNF mod, a Project: Afternight tab, a character or opponent set, a song group, a chart pack, or even a cosmetic. Keep those entities separate.

Create a parent row for the current tab or grouping visible in the selector. Put individual songs beneath it only after confirming them in the live game. Link cosmetics to the Animations, Custom Icons, Outfit ID, or Tags guides instead of mixing them into the song count.

Use clear status labels

Playable

The tab and at least one named chart loaded in a current manual check.

Changed

The current title, songs, chart versions, or presentation differ from an older reference.

Not found

The entry was searched in the checked build but was not located. This is not proof of permanent removal.

Upcoming

Only use when a current first-party announcement explicitly presents it as future content.

Removed

Reserve for a direct official statement or unmistakable current removal notice, not simple absence.

Verification required

A search, video, or community page suggests the entry, but the live game check is incomplete.

Status language protects readers from treating an older wiki list as a live menu.

Verify a mod tab in the current game

Join Project: Afternight, Place 13042495892, and confirm the creator is Dawndreamer Studios. Open the current song selector from an available speaker or stage. Record the exact tab or group label, then verify at least one song opens far enough to show difficulty and lane information.

Do not estimate a song total from scroll length. If the interface reports a count, attach it to the date and exact view; otherwise leave the total blank. Filters, locked entries, search state, and loaded content can change what is visible.

Create a responsive mod card

Each current entry should include:

  • Mod or tab label exactly as displayed.
  • Current status and last checked date.
  • Verified song titles and selected difficulty/key-count notes.
  • Characters or opponents only when visible in the current entry.
  • Event, flash, shake, jumpscare, or special-presentation warning.
  • Unlock connection only when the live reward names this source.
  • Device tested and a link to the relevant song or reward guide.

Leave creator credit, source mod version, song count, chart author, or availability reason blank when not verified. Do not transfer credits from a different port or game automatically.

Search the large catalog efficiently

Start with the current in-game search or tab navigation if available. Search the exact player-facing title, then try a recognized alternate spelling only as a discovery step. Once located, store the current displayed name as canonical and keep aliases as notes.

Avoid creating duplicate entries for punctuation, capitalization, singular/plural forms, or an anime/game nickname. If two current tabs genuinely expose distinct charts, identify them by tab plus song or chart rather than silently merging them.

Handle upcoming and removed searches

Players often search “Project Afternight upcoming mods” or “removed mods.” These are time-sensitive questions. A creator teaser, Discord announcement, or update post can support an upcoming label, but it does not establish a release date unless one is stated. Never calculate or invent a countdown.

When a song disappears, record the last date it was found and the first date it was not. Check Updates and official channels. Possible licensing, quality, technical, or creator reasons must not be presented as fact without an official statement.

Account for difficulty and key mode

One mod tab can contain charts with different difficulties and key counts. Do not give the whole tab one difficulty label. Link exact six-lane findings to 6K Songs and demanding entries to Hardest Songs with the chart context attached.

Modifiers are separate from source mods. A modifier changes how a selected chart is played; it is not evidence that a new content mod exists. The Modifiers reference covers names confirmed by official Badge descriptions.

Add event and device notes

Project: Afternight warns about flashing lights, screen shakes, and jumpscares. Mark observed presentation per song or chart, not as a generic assumption for every tab. Use Songs with Events for cutscenes, camera behavior, or special playfield changes.

Desktop, mobile, and console are supported, but the developer recommends desktop. A tab being visible on one device does not prove every chart presents identically on another. Record the tested platform and keep mobile reach or performance notes separate from chart difficulty.

Use community documentation responsibly

The long-running Funkipedia Project: Afternight pages are valuable discovery maps, but the shop subpage itself warns that it is large, unfinished, and possibly outdated. Use community lists to form a search queue, then verify entries in the live official experience.

Rewrite observations in your own words and link to the current game. Do not copy another site’s tables, unique descriptions, images, or claimed totals. A current short list with honest status is more useful than a huge stale one.

A weekly catalog check

  1. Save the current date and update state.
  2. Verify several high-interest tabs and one song per tab.
  3. Search previously not-found entries again.
  4. Check first-party announcements for additions or removals.
  5. Move entries between status labels only with recorded evidence.
  6. Recheck connected unlocks before publishing their conditions.

Use Updates when a familiar tab changes and Community for official identities. The correct mods list is an indexed observation of the current beta, not a promise that every historical FNF mod remains available forever.
